Rain and Mist Enshroud the Tower: The Song of Wutong Alley

In the early years of the Republic of China, the Lu family mansion amid the misty Jiangnan rains concealed many secrets. The Third Concubine discovered a rusted pocket watch in the embroidery tower, bringing to light the story of the Sixth Concubine's disappearance. The young master Mu Sheng, recently returned from studying abroad, met the songstress Yun Yi by the Qinhuai River, and feelings quietly blossomed between them. Anonymous threatening letters and a bloodstained handkerchief drew them into danger and confusion. Yun Yi was in fact a daughter of the Lu family, and Mu Sheng was injured in a fire at the ancestral hall while trying to save her. In the end, Mu Sheng died because of his family's crimes, and Yun Yi left for a distant land. Crows cried out in the cold, and a bloodstained silk handkerchief spoke of their love and hatred. The story ends in tragedy, revealing the fickleness of fate and the complexity of human nature.
