A Wife from the Start? Or a Beastgirl?

For readers, this kind of setup makes it easy to see the story through the protagonist's eyes. For example, in a web novel, the protagonist may be perfectly ordinary until a wife suddenly drops into his lap. Readers will wonder how he will handle this unexpected windfall, as if they too were caught up in the protagonist's extraordinary situation, making the experience much more immersive.

From a writer's perspective, this allows the author to quickly establish the protagonist's relationships and living circumstances, cutting down on introductory setup and moving straight into the heart of the story. For instance, the married couple might face a family crisis together or solve problems in their daily lives, speeding up the story's pace.
