Myth Reversed: Wukong

When a modern science-and-engineering graduate's soul enters the newborn Sun Wukong, the impregnable monopoly on mystical knowledge in the immortal realm begins to crumble.

With his awakened Fiery Golden Eyes granting him data-driven vision, he sees through the physical laws behind immortal arts. Riding his Somersault Cloud, whose secrets conceal aerodynamics, he laughs in the face of the Heavenly Court's hundred thousand pursuers. He swindles a coral ruler with density measurements from the Dragon Palace, uses acid-base indicators to work wonders in the underworld, then sets up acoustic resonance at Flower-Fruit Mountain to break through the heavenly net. With a scientific mindset, Sun Wukong carves out a rebellious path through a world of myth.

The immortals of the Heavenly Court mistake it all for secret mystical arts. The Dragon King mounts a buoyancy formula as an ancient formation diagram, the Thunder Department adds lightning rods to its supplementary notes on the Five Thunders Orthodox Method, and when Lord Laozi's alchemy furnace explodes, he still yells that fire demons are to blame. When Sun Wukong finally disrupts the resonance frequency of the Buddha's Five-Finger Mountain during his havoc in Heaven, the gods and buddhas are stunned to realize that this unruly monkey has used the mortal art of investigating things to tear through a thousand-year-old barrier to understanding in the immortal realm...
