Everyone Can Understand the Treatise on Cold Damage

The Treatise on Cold Damage was written by Zhang Zhongjing in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. It is the first monumental work in the history of traditional Chinese medicine to bring together principles, methods, prescriptions, and medicines, combining theory with practice. Organized around the six channels and the three yang and three yin patterns, it discusses in detail the diagnosis and treatment of numerous externally contracted diseases, pioneering pattern-based diagnosis and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine and exerting a profound influence on the development of medicine in later generations. The book records many effective prescriptions, such as Cinnamon Twig Decoction and Ephedra Decoction, which are still widely used today.

In short, the Treatise on Cold Damage is a classic of traditional Chinese medicine on the pattern-based diagnosis and treatment of externally contracted diseases, with immense scholarly and practical value.
