Marvel’s Mad Universe: Starting with Captain America’s Execution

A universe no one dares to write about, one Marvel would never bring to the big screen.

On the streets of Brooklyn, a shattered shield lies in a trash can. On a New York streetlight, a corpse dressed as Black Panther sways in the wind.

The God of Thunder, who claimed to wield divine power, has a bullet through his head. In a transparent jar of formaldehyde at a museum, a huge green figure has been cut into several pieces.

The playboy who became one with his armor is now a drunken, useless wreck. Hawkeye, the peerless archer, has been blown to pieces by a Jericho Missile.

Doctor Doom takes the presidency and declares the superheroes traitors. New York Mayor Kingpin launches a massive manhunt for street-level heroes.

Everything here seems to have fallen into chaos. Evil, crime, and violence appear to fill this universe.

On the street, a young man sits in his car, cheerfully greeting a skeleton on the Hudson Bridge.

Pointing at the disorderly city around him, he laughs and says, "Look, another beautiful day."
