A Pawn of the Empire

A genius peddler of sin. Withdrawn, lonely, obsessive, and mad. Whenever the times change, he raises the banner of the Inverted Cross.

Victory makes him a king or minister; defeat leaves him crawling in the filth like a maggot.

When he pacifies a chaotic world, talented people gather under his command from every direction.

When he hides among the common folk, he looks down upon the world, with only one person at his side.

Prologue: Tianyi

December 3, overcast.

It was already past ten in the morning when I opened my eyes. I didn't need to draw the curtains to know the sky outside was dark and gloomy. The damp air had seeped into the room, into my bed, and even into my bones.

I had only two choices: make myself a cup of coffee, or close my eyes and hope that when I opened them again, it would be December 4.

In the end, I got up anyway.

Today, as usual, I sat in my shop, praying that no one would come to this dump.
