Hong Kong Island in Turmoil: My Father Is Lei Luo, the New Tycoon of Hong Kong

Reborn in Hong Kong in 1972.

He became the only son of Lei Luo, the five-hundred-million-dollar detective.

At the time, Hong Kong's commercial sector was booming, but criminal gangs were brazen and corruption was rampant.

But everything began to change after the new governor, MacLehose, took office.

In October 1973, Governor MacLehose proposed creating an independent agency dedicated to fighting corruption.

When the news broke...

The former Chinese detectives and inspectors from various departments panicked. The major gangs also began to keep a low profile.

Lei Luo: "Let's go live in Taiwan."

Lei Kaigang: "Dad, you'll have to run, sure, but you also need to launder all that money."

Using his father's money, he set up film and record companies, made the hottest movies, and dated the most beautiful women.

He battled the stock market, took on the major trading houses, acquired British-owned conglomerates, and founded the Chinese Alliance.

And so, step by step...

He expanded into food, clothing, housing, transportation, finance, real estate, hotels, electronics, heavy and light industry, and more...

Years later...

The Lei family empire had spread across the globe, and Hong Kong had truly become the Lei family's harbor.
