In his previous life, Lin Xiang died suddenly from overwork. To his astonishment, he transmigrates into Dream of the Red Chamber as the eldest legitimate son of Lin Ruhai and Jia Min!

But Miss Lin is left all alone, with no siblings by her side. Is he destined to die young just as he does in the original story?

No! He will never accept such a fate!

From then on, he stays constantly vigilant, deftly evading assassination attempts and schemes against him again and again as he grows up.

Are they the secret struggles among the women of the household, or the political rivals in court trying to push the Lin family aside?

As the years pass, he gradually clears away the layers of fog. The name of the Lin family's prized son grows ever more renowned, and he becomes the model of the child everyone else's parents wish they had.

He passes the imperial examinations at a young age, and after entering officialdom, achieves an impressive record. He leads the Ministry of Works in developing many useful devices and surveys the rich resources in the surrounding seas, turning the eyes of the world toward that vast ocean...

His parents are immensely proud of him. Meanwhile, the likes of Second Madam Wang, jealous after comparing him with their own children, can only curse him silently before the Buddha as they watch him stride ever higher and farther.
