My Ex-Wife Is Actually the Empress

"The land is picturesque, the world is bizarre, and idle chatter wanders here and there.

Emperors and tyrants, palace intrigue, common folk quarrel and fight.

The Chu River and Han border, oxen follow horses.

In times of prosperity, envy them not.

In times of ruin, envy them not."

My name is Jin Wangsun. While robbing a tomb with my uncle, I stumbled into a snake pit and, by a stroke of luck, found a serpent pearl. Make nine wishes, and you get nine wishes fulfilled. I tested it out with my first wish, curing the local commander's daughter of a serious illness and becoming his son-in-law. My love life flourished, but when I wished before the serpent pearl for my wife to become empress, she left home and rose to become empress on her own. She became an inspiring role model for women through the ages, a shining star among women. But I ended up watching my wife turn into my ex-wife, left to lament for the rest of my life, with nothing but endless grievances, heartache, and joy and sorrow. Now I'm digging out the sordid, shameful things hidden behind the halos of history and bringing them into the light, so readers can chew them over after dinner, judge and discuss them. It's all just for a laugh.

Let's start with how I found a treasure while robbing a tomb.
