From the Start, Nuwa Wants to Create Humans

Nuwa sat by the river, gazing at her reflection, when a sudden idea struck her. She shaped some clay in her own image, creating a being with a woman's body and a serpent's tail, and named her Bai Xi.

Looking at Bai Xi, Nuwa felt that something was still missing.

Just then, Chen Gou transmigrated into this world, descending from the sky.

When Nuwa saw Chen Gou, inspiration struck. She planned to mold a woman in her own likeness and a man in Chen Gou's.

Chen Gou looked at Nuwa and said earnestly,

"You don't actually have to use clay to create people."

"You mean there's another way?"

"Of course. I'll teach you right now."

Much later, Bai Xi spoke up.

"Chen Gou, teach me how to make a little snake, too."
