Siheyuan: My Carefree Life

1958.

An era ablaze with passion.

From hardship and solidarity to prosperity and splendor.

To struggle against the heavens is a joy! To struggle against the earth is a joy! To struggle against humanity is a joy!

The tree longs for stillness, but the wind will not cease?

In an age without smartphones, computers, or short videos, Li Jianshe figures that occasionally teasing the beasts and taking a look at the good and evil, ugliness and beauty of human nature might be a pleasant way to pass the time.

Faced with beastly neighbors, Li Jianshe begins his carefree life.
