The Last Spirit Official

Demon beasts have influenced human civilization ever since its dawn. In ancient times, they fed on humans. During the age of slavery, some became curious about human society and appeared among people, influencing the course of history. They were granted noble titles in the human world and, in historical records, became legendary gods. As human society developed and people gained access to more powerful weapons, the demon beasts gradually discovered how interesting the human world was. For various reasons, they began hiding among humans, giving rise to the many tales of Daoist priests hunting demons in modern times. By the present day, after generations of change, these demon beasts have become completely integrated into human society. Only spirit officials can identify them. My name is Duanmu Sen. I'm the last spirit official in the world, but I never expected my adversaries to include not only demon beasts, but also gods who have gone mad.
