The Mountain Hermit Becomes an Immortal

This is the story of a beggar boy who should have amounted to nothing in the mountains, until he obtains a System at the brink of life and death. The protagonist is moved to tears: System, go bother someone else. Why did it have to be me? The System is always trying to take the protagonist's life. It desperately wants to find its original host, but has no choice but to possess the protagonist and battle him with all its wits and guile. After obtaining the System, the protagonist gives up completely and slumps down, only to remain seated until he becomes an immortal among the Myriad Worlds!
