Naruto: A Plot to Seize Power, Starting with the Akatsuki

Qian Yu: "I was born in Konoha's Year 34. I am the heir to the Will of Fire. From Academy student to Chunin, from Chunin to Jonin, every step of my career has been made possible by Konoha and the Hokage's promotion. If I had to name my mentor, Konoha itself is my mentor. If I had to name my backers, the Hokage and Konoha are my backers. And if I had to name my purpose, realizing the Will of Fire is my one and only goal."

Danzo: "You came from the Land of Rain to join Konoha. How did you become the heir to the Will of Fire?"

Qian Yu: "Though I was forced overseas by war when I was young, I became Konan's disciple, and Konan was Jiraiya's student. So why wouldn't I be the heir to the Will of Fire?"

Qian Yu had originally planned to stay with Akatsuki, earn a little money in peace, and look for a way back. But he realized Akatsuki was beyond saving, so after seizing power, he brought Konan and the others with him to join Konoha. He never expected to get caught up in an even greater struggle for power, and in the end, he could only rise to the very top.
