The nuclear holocaust that caused the collapse of the old age on Earth was supposed to wipe out all human life on Earth. Yes, the gods built their beautiful Elysium to provide refuge for those they chose, but it stands to reason that everyone outside of Elysium should have perished long ago. Yet, somehow, even in the deadly, mutant-infested wasteland, human life still manages to survive. Cloudhawk is a young scavenger who dreams of being as free as an eagle in the sky, but seems destined to scavenge for scraps in the ruins of the wasteland. However, fate is always unpredictable. A chance encounter with a ragtag group of mercenaries changes the course of his life, leading him into a world of mutants and supermen, demon hunters and god-killers, even gods and demons. Cloudhawk will find his place in a world far greater than he imagined, finding his way between the feverish light of Sumeru and the whispering darkness of the Abyss...
