Hou Liangping Imprisons Zhong Zhengguo, and Zhong Xiaoa'i Panics!

Hou Liangping, a man from the 21st century, transmigrates into the body of his namesake in the world of In the Name of the People. The original Hou Liangping was a live-in son-in-law. He and his wife, Zhong Xia'ai, were married in name only, and he died by suicide after falling into depression because the child wasn't his.

When Hou Liangping first arrives, he intends to put up with it. Then he happens to activate the Defiant System: the more he turns against the Zhong family, the brighter his future becomes.

Hou Liangping investigates and arrests Zhong Xia'ai for illegally accepting huge sums of money from others and having affairs during their marriage!

Sha Ruijin: Hou Liangping, I'm suspending you! How dare you defy the natural order and investigate your own wife!

Hou Liangping: She's not my wife. We divorced. The law applies equally to everyone, from the emperor to the common people. I'll take down any corrupt official, no matter how powerful!

Zhong Zhengguo: You're just a live-in son-in-law, and you dare investigate my daughter? If you've got the guts, investigate me!

Hou Liangping: That's exactly what I'm doing. Comrade Zhong Zhengguo, you're suspected of a crime. Come with me!

Hou Liangping puts justice before family and wipes out the entire Zhong family, rising all the way to the top.
