Reborn, and You Think I Want to Be a Paparazzo?

As the heir apparent to the position of chief steward of the Prince of Jing's manor, I had a chance to become one of the upper-class people everyone admired... or rather, their lackey. I was exceptionally satisfied with this reborn identity.

I had rejected the System 4,008 times. First, the way it described itself sounded way too much like a pyramid scheme. Second, I disliked how it popped up like an ad. Its dialog box offered only Yes and no No, and its close icon was tiny and blurry.

Of course, the most important reason was that my education wouldn't let me sink into the sordid world of celebrity gossip. That said, I won't deny that my position as a manor steward had a tiny bit to do with my refusals.

Even though I was reluctant, as a former corporate drone, I'd learned long ago how to make peace with myself. Only after learning more about this world did I realize that outrageous gossip was everywhere. Bringing entertainment news to the curious masses was worthy of becoming my life's work.
