The Chronicles of Sanhe

In a small village in Suqian, northern Jiangsu, Zu Jiawei grows up in a poor family. As a child, the family's straitened finances leave him feeling inferior and timid.

His father often beats his mother brutally. Those scenes are etched deeply in Zu Jiawei's mind, bringing him endless pain. At school, he also becomes a target of bullying. His classmates' mockery and abuse leave him feeling helpless and alone.

He silently endures it all, his heart full of hurt and anguish. His impoverished life denies him the carefree happiness other children enjoy, while the violence at home leaves deep scars on his soul.

As time passes, Zu Jiawei slowly leaves behind the land that holds so many memories. He understands that only by leaving can he make a fresh start.

In the end, after somehow enduring ten years of middle school, he leaves Suqian in northern Jiangsu. His future is full of hope, and that unhappy childhood becomes the beginning of a different path for him...
