I Asked You to Write About a Beggar, So Why Are You Making the Audience Cry?

In the blink of an eye, Jiang Nan finds himself in a parallel world.

A literary competition where generations clash.

The production team gives the contestants a theme: beggar.

--

The contestants born in the 1980s painstakingly craft a story about an ordinary beggar who endures hardship just to live a peaceful life with his wife.

The contestants born in the 1990s immerse themselves in romance, turning their beggar into the next Ma of Shenzhen and Hangzhou, who marries a beautiful heiress and reaches the pinnacle of life.

--

Jiang Nan, born in the 2000s, takes a different approach and writes with bold, sweeping strokes.

His beggar lives a quiet life amid poverty.

The audience thinks he'll get married and have children at sixteen, living a safe and peaceful life.

But suddenly, the story takes an unexpected turn!

The deaths of his parents and eldest brother...

Then... he founds a dynasty...

Just as the audience thinks a good life is finally within reach...

The death of the woman he loves, and the sudden passing of the son he treasures most.

He loses his father and mother in his youth, his wife in middle age, and his son in old age.

The audience: "You really made me cry!"

"Seriously, man, you really know how to hit us with tragedy. That one destroyed me!"
