He transmigrates into a fictional world, becomes a regent, and takes command of the Embroidered Uniform Guard.

He had planned to woo the Empress, but instead she appoints him her adoptive father!

Empress: "The court is facing a financial crisis, and the treasury is running dry. Adoptive Father, what should I do?"

Yin Chang: "I urge all officials to donate money to help the nation through this crisis. If they refuse, I suspect they lack patriotism, and I recommend confiscating their property and executing their entire clans!"

Empress: "The Imperial Preceptor has joined forces with the alchemists to pressure me into building a Dragon King Temple to combat the drought. Adoptive Father, what should I do?"

Yin Chang: "The alchemists can't be trusted. I recommend shelling the Dragon King Temple directly to put some pressure on the Dragon King! While we're at it, confiscate the property and execute the entire clans of the alchemists and the Imperial Preceptor!"

Empress: "The Empress has bypassed me and involved herself in state affairs, intending to have her child take my place. Adoptive Father, what should I do?"

Yin Chang: "Confiscate her property and execute her... Ahem, I think the Empress still has her charms!"

Empress: "The Great General has become estranged from us. What do you think?"

Yin Chang: "Then we should strengthen our ties! The Great General has a daughter. I'll make a sacrifice and take her as my consort!"

Empress: "??? Why aren't you confiscating their property this time?"

Yin Chang: "..."

Empress: "Stop making excuses! I think Adoptive Father still has your charms too!"
