The Pangolin Begins by Becoming Bajie's Disciple

When you become a pangolin, it's only natural to feel dejected. Who would have thought that after becoming Bajie's disciple, you could land a cushy post among the Eight Immortals of the Grotto-Heavens?

This is a different kind of Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea. With powerful backing, life gets even more comfortable.

Then, he continues to grow stronger in worlds like The Legend of the White Snake, Journey to the West, and Investiture of the Gods, eventually discovering how nice it is to have powerful backing, or to become someone else's backer.
