Siheyuan: I Know Everyone, So How Do I Get the Courtyard's Pests to Leave Me Alone?

It's 1959, in the midst of a famine.

With the meat stored in his pocket dimension, Qin Yuan becomes a welcome guest at all the major institutions in Beijing.

He never has to worry about food, drink, clothes, or shelter.

His younger sister graduates and is ready to find a job. She can take her pick of any work unit in Beijing, and wherever she chooses, I'll have connections there.

And the bullies in the courtyard?

Heh. The deputy director of the steel mill treats me like a sworn brother.

The police station chief only got promoted because of me.

The neighborhood committee director wants to make me his son-in-law.

What chance do you have against me?

Mess with me, and you might as well mess with the steel mill, the neighborhood committee, the brewery, the hospital, the housing bureau, the supply and marketing cooperative, the railway bosses...

Can't be helped. I have too many friends.

Hey, hey, you lot used to be so cocky. Why do you hide from me whenever you see me?
