Several centuries ago, Blue Star was suddenly struck by a great calamity. Countless spatial rifts appeared throughout the human world, and the demons that poured out of them inflicted devastating losses on humanity. Just as humanity faced the threat of extinction, people began to awaken Soul Artifacts and became Demon Slayers by drawing on their power.

Through the fierce resistance of countless Demon Slayers, humanity won a glimmer of hope on the brink of annihilation. Over the past several centuries, the few human cities left on Blue Star have recuperated and built extensive defenses, gaining a little breathing room. But the crisis facing humanity still remains.
