Reborn in Honghuang, I Am the King of Men

Through a twist of fate, Di Xin arrives in the primordial world, his soul inhabiting the body of the last king of the Shang Dynasty during the Investiture of the Gods era.

Thinking of the tragedy of this king setting himself on fire in the Star-Picking Tower, he is near tears. Fortunately, he has a strong mind and the help of a System. He is determined to change the fate of humanity and set the cataclysmic tribulation in motion.

To that end, he devises countless plans. He lays a foundation with the nation's fortune and protects the Shang dynasty. He starts with agriculture, freeing humanity from dependence on immortals and gods; establishes martial arts as the foundation for humanity's resistance; teaches the people through Confucianism; and passes down the art of medicine to save people from misery and protect them from disease...

He insists that humanity must determine its own fate. He will not fall prey to the schemes of the Sages, be controlled by immortals and gods, or become a pawn in the Investiture of the Gods. If the Sages scheme against the mortal world and slaughter humanity, then he will make enemies of all the immortals and gods in heaven, enshrine the gods of the mortal world, establish the Nine Cauldrons anew, build academies, and usher in an age when a hundred schools of thought contend.

Countless years later, he stands atop the Shang dynasty, with immortal and divine corpses at his feet and tears of the Sages behind him. He cries out, "Human life is decided by humans, not Heaven. The will of humanity can overcome Heaven!"
