Siheyuan: Reported for Taking Over a Job, I Became an Enemy Spy

Li Xiangyang transmigrated to a courtyard compound in 1953. His only relative, his grandfather, had died, and he was preparing to take over his job.

But when he went through the political background check, someone reported that his grandfather had been an enemy spy.

Jia Dongxu: "Your grandfather had a photo with someone from Japan. You'd better give up the job, kid."

Jia Zhangshi: "You don't deserve to live in this courtyard. I suggest you turn yourself in right now."

Yi Zhonghai: "Your grandfather was an enemy spy, so you might be one too. I suggest you run for it."

Li Xiangyang had only just transmigrated, and now he was about to lose his job and his home. He might even lose his life.

Just then, the results of the investigation were announced, leaving the whole courtyard stunned.

The archives showed that the photo of Li Xiangyang's grandfather with someone from Japan had been taken before the founding of the country, and that he had secretly helped the Communists relocate people many times.

Political Screening Official: "We're sorry. We didn't do enough."

Neighborhood Committee Director: "My father was once saved by your grandfather. You are the descendant of my benefactor."

Li Xiangyang: "You animals, go ahead and report me again!"

Yi Zhonghai, Jia Zhangshi, and the others were utterly devastated.
