Reported for Enlisting! My Ancestors Were Communists!

Li Ran is reborn in a parallel world in the late 1990s and binds himself to the National Rejuvenation System.

To activate the System, he signs up for military service. But a week before he is due to enlist, someone reports that his grandfather once went to prison.

He thinks that means he has no chance of joining the army and activating the System. Then he discovers that his grandfather was imprisoned for secretly supporting the Communist Party.

Li Ran is overjoyed. He thought he was an undocumented nobody, but it turns out he is a blue-chip stock.

What? His grandfather even had a marriage arrangement with a founding general? And his future father-in-law is a lieutenant general!

With his identity and the System backing him, Li Ran repeatedly earns great merit in the army, rises through the ranks, and thrives.

Then, two years after enlisting, Li Ran says, "How about we call off the marriage arrangement? I feel like your daughter isn't good enough for me."

The lieutenant general replies, "What nonsense are you talking about, my future major general son-in-law?"
