Boonie Bears: The Adventurers' Diary 3

[The blurb is a bit weak, please read the story]

Nan Gong Quan crawled out of an underground cave. He paid no attention to the damp earth beneath him, flopped onto his back, and panted, his eyelids fighting to stay open.

Nan Gong Quan took the Northern Mystic Pearl from his pocket and rubbed it under his nose. He sneezed, then managed to pull himself together.

After resting for more than ten minutes, he finally recovered, only to feel aches all over his body. He took off his climbing helmet, which was now battered and covered in more than a dozen scratches.

He took out the last half of his energy bar and wolfed down a couple of dry bites, then pulled out his map to check his location. Luckily, there was a small stream nearby, so he filled his canteen and caught a few flower snakes while he was at it.

He chopped them into pieces with his entrenching tool and roasted them over the fire. With no seasoning at all, they tasted strongly of earth.
