Sword Immortal: A Hundred Lifetimes of Reincarnation

Chu Feng: "The things of this world are too painful. How can I forget them?"

"Play chess," Ye Fan replied.

"Can chess take the place of everything in the world?" Chu Feng asked, his voice calm and composed, yet full of confusion.

"It can. The nineteen-by-nineteen board contains the universe. Only by breaking free of the universe's shackles can you enter another realm," Ye Fan answered.

"The world Pangu created when he split heaven and earth may be a multiverse, but it is only a broken fragment of the Great Wilderness. Though it follows the rules of the old world, it cannot serve as a model. This means that no matter how complete the Dao here becomes, it can never match the incomplete Dao of the old world."

"No matter how hard you try, you cannot change the causes planted in the past that gave rise to today's consequences."

"The board is everything in the world, and the pieces are all its living beings. Every time you place a piece, you must consider its causes and consequences, and what will happen to the whole world when you place the next one."

"The cycle of cause and effect? Is every piece a life? Does each one control the causes and consequences of the Myriad Worlds?"
