Lord of the Dark Night

If the Heavenly Dao will not favor me, then I will take control of the heavens and the Dao myself! If heaven and earth do not bend to my will, I will make them serve me. Under the whole sky, I alone am the marshal moving the pieces; everyone else is a pawn!

The young man is full of passion and confidence, dressed in fine clothes and riding a fine horse. He seeks neither fame nor fortune, only a clear conscience! If being the best under heaven can make the nations tremble with fear and keep evil spirits from invading the human realm and preying on people, then he will become the best under heaven!

High schooler Ye Ye encounters a group of people by chance during a trip. They wear black armor and bamboo hats, their faces covered with iron masks, and each has a horizontal saber at their waist! They perform light-footed martial arts moves that he has only ever seen in TV shows and anime. He even doubts his own sanity, but never the world around him!

Yet this chance encounter draws him into a conflict between factions and great nations, and makes him realize that the strange little picture book the old Taoist gave him years ago might not have been a hoax after all.
