Casting a Movie: You Want Yang Mi to Play Chu Renmei?

After transmigrating, Fang Hai discovered that he was taking part in the Celestial Empire's film screenplay competition.

Contestants had to write screenplays based on prompts from the production team.

When the production team announced the prompt: Rural Romance,

Fang Hai saw the other contestants writing about widows remaining chaste and devoted widowers, all centered on unwavering fidelity.

Fang Hai decided to turn the formula on its head and write: A Corpse in the Mountain Village. I'm counting on you!

Just from the title, the judges and audience thought Fang Hai had made a typo and meant to write a story about a female teacher sent to the countryside falling in love with a poor young man.

Until this happened: Sixty-six people in Huangshan Village died mysteriously within three days, all because a famous opera actress had been deceived by a scumbag, turned her love to hatred, and became a vengeful ghost...

The judges were dumbfounded: "It's rural romance! I didn't ask you for a human-versus-ghost conflict."

Netizens were stunned too: "Damn, so the true meaning of love really is: even as a ghost, you won't let them get away."

For the second round, he wrote Dying to Survive, and for the third, Let the Bullets Fly.

After fighting his way to the final and winning,

Judge Yang Mi came to his door late at night: "Director Fang, could I play a role in your film?"

Fang Hai: "Honestly, there's no one but you for the role of Chu Renmei!"
