Going Dark: Starting With Brylcreem for My Greasy Hair

Bao Guowei wears a sharp suit and slicks his hair back, humming, "For suits, wear Paremont; for hair oil, use only Stacomb!"

As he speaks, Bao Guowei tosses two banknotes to Old Bao. "Dad, hurry up and buy me some Stacomb."

"What? Dead chicken egg soup?"

"It's Sta-comb!"

Bao Guowei enunciates every syllable. "Not egg soup!"

"If you don't buy me Stacomb, you're no father of mine from now on!"

Guo Chun spots Bao Guowei shining like a star in the crowd and struggles mightily to make his way over.

"Bao Guowei, what kind of hair oil do you like to use?"

Bao Guowei replies nonchalantly, "Stacomb."

"Oh, me too! I use Stacomb as well!"

Guo Chun, whose family has fallen on hard times, watches Bao Guowei climb step by step to the pinnacle of power and can't help bursting into tears.
