In the Wuxia World: From the Start, I Had the War God Atlas

They say that the general trend of the world is for division to be followed by unity, and unity by division. Unity is followed by division.

When the great sage and teacher proclaimed that the heavens were dead, offering the Han dynasty, already nearing its twilight, one final funeral, Yang Shuo felt as if he understood.

Yet according to legend, during the era of the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors in ancient times, the Divine Land was one great continent. When the era of the Sage Emperors abdicating the throne came to an end, it split into three.

From the Xia dynasty's founding through the era of the warring states, to the Sui dynasty's unification of the Northern Xia and its occupation of the Western Continent, while the Song, Liao, and Western Xia kingdoms ruled the Southern Continent.

Then came the Eastern Continent, from the Zhou dynasty through the Qin and the two Han dynasties, as well as the northern frontier lands of the Shang dynasty, where the Yuan and Ming dynasties were located.

Since the severing of the connection between Heaven and Earth, few martial artists had glimpsed the Upper Realm's Central Continent. There, the Three Abundances Immortal, Zhenwu, ascended to the heavens by day from his temple in the Northern Frontier; the two schools and six sects of the Sui, Ming, and Han Sacred Order contended with Cihang Jingzhai; the weapons rankings of the Song dynasty's martial world were recorded; and the Qilin Demon rampaged through the land of Yizhou in the Han dynasty.

As for the saying that the more you know, the less you know, Yang Shuo felt as if he understood. It turned out he really knew nothing at all.
