Reincarnation at the Bridge of Helplessness: I’ll Start with Self-Governance of the Underworld!

In ancient times, the Yellow Springs raged. Souls had to be flung into its violent currents and suffer a thousand cuts before they could be reincarnated.

Our ancestor Fuxi could not bear to see living beings suffer after death. He took a spirit stone from Mount Buzhou and laid it across the banks. Only then could the dead retain their minds as they reincarnated, spared the torment of having their souls scraped away.

Years later, the immortals declared themselves gods. Using the fortune of the Heavenly Dao, they seized control of the Three Realms and established the Underworld to govern life, death, and reincarnation.

The immortals plundered the spiritual energy of the Three Realms to strengthen themselves. The Heavenly Dao was displeased and abandoned them.

The mighty immortals refused to sit by and await their doom. They rallied their entire race to seize the Heavenly Dao, and in the end, both sides perished. Thus, spiritual energy returned to the Three Realms.

After the Heavenly Dao had lain dormant for many years, the remnants of the immortal race wreaked havoc in the Underworld, bringing demons and monsters to the human world and unleashing a night when ghosts roamed everywhere.

The Bridge of Helplessness was originally a spirit stone, enlightened by Fuxi to guard the Yellow Springs. Throughout endless ages, it had guided countless souls across.

When chaos erupted in the ghost realm, the Bridge of Helplessness collapsed into the Yellow Springs. Carrying the karma and merit of countless lifetimes, it reincarnated into the world of the living.

The Bridge of Helplessness: "Didn't your immortal race throw yourselves into the ghost realm to wreak havoc on the living? I, the Bridge of Helplessness, have come down in person to catch ghosts. How will you deal with that?"
