They Called Me a Useless Musician, So I Picked Up the Suona

Ethnic music in this world has been on the back foot for far too long.

Just after the new semester began at Huaxia Central University of the Arts, Gu Yue, a freshman hailed as a piano prodigy, led a group of Western music students in trying to claim the last large practice hall reserved for ethnic music.

"Come on, do us a favor. We're performing at the welcome party, and you don't have any good acts. Let us have it."

"We're all struggling here. We barely get to use the large practice halls ourselves, so don't make a fuss."

"Your practice hall is just sitting empty anyway, right?"

"We won't make any noise. You'll get used to it!"

"We're all in the same department. Why are you being so inconsiderate?"

"Why can't you see the bigger picture?"

The best way to deal with moral coercion is to hit back hard!

Gu Yue was left speechless, then flew into a rage out of embarrassment.

"What awards have you won? What's your signature work? Nothing? Ha, you're just a useless musician!"

Gu Yue shamelessly strutted around the practice hall, playing his instrument.

Zhao Hongxian, whom he'd called a useless musician, just smiled and took out his suona.
