Drop Your Standards and Enjoy a Shameless Life

Under pressure from his parents to get married, Jiang Haochen goes on a blind date with Wang Xiying.

Wang Xiying puts no effort into the date at all. She's cold whenever Jiang Haochen messages her, but when he invites her to dinner, she doesn't hesitate to order expensive food.

The two meals cost Jiang Haochen two thousand yuan, yet she tells the matchmaker that he didn't take the initiative and blames him for the date going nowhere.

Jiang Haochen finally wakes up to the fact that he's just an ordinary person. Why hold himself to such high moral standards?

Wang Xiying is shameless. She won't make a move herself, but expects Jiang Haochen to act like a lovesick simp before she'll call it taking the initiative. So Jiang Haochen decides he won't take the loss. He's getting his money back for those meals.

He sweet-talks Wang Xiying into going out for a lavish dinner, then slips away under an excuse before the bill arrives, leaving her to pay half a month's wages. Wang Xiying is furious.

From then on, Jiang Haochen lets go of his personal standards, embraces a shameless life, refuses to overthink things, and goes completely off the rails whenever there's a problem.

His motto is simple: treat others the way they treat him, and stop trying to be the nice guy.
