Jiangshi: The Nine Gates Commander Builds the Civilian Investigation Bureau from the Start

Lu Yuan is reborn in Republican-era China, joins the army, distinguishes himself, and becomes a general.

Only then does he realize that this is a zombie world teeming with demons and ghosts.

The Old Nine Gates, Uncle Jiu, Wu Xin: The Monster Killer, Zhang Zhiwei, and all sorts of other characters arrive one after another.

Facing all kinds of monsters, Lu Yuan suppresses the Old Nine Gates from the start, becomes the Ninth Gate Commander, and establishes the Bureau of Folk Affairs Investigation.

He recruits troops and gathers extraordinary talents from every walk of life.

He goes to Renjia Town to recruit Uncle Jiu, the mentor of the myriad worlds' newbie village; hires Hei Bei Liu on Changsha's streets; rescues Si Teng from Qiu Shan; digs Yue Qiluo out of an abandoned well; and brings Zhang Zhiwei down from Mount Longhu...

From then on, the Bureau of Folk Affairs' legends gradually spread among the people.

"Director, the Xiangxi Witchcraft Cult is causing trouble. Requesting permission to wipe them out!"

"Director, we've found traces of a bronze-armored corpse in Xishuangbanna. Requesting permission to exterminate it!"

"Director, the Black Sect in Tibet has risen again. The Yellow Sect lamas at the Potala Palace have requested help. Should we send support!?"

"Director, the Japanese devils are hunting dragons in the Northeast..."

In a chaotic era rife with demons and monsters, Lu Yuan leads the Bureau of Folk Affairs in vanquishing evil and bringing peace to the land, gradually becoming a legend himself.
