Great Ming: I Failed the Imperial Exams, and Old Zhu Set His Sights on Me

During the Hongwu era, Chu Xuan transmigrates!

He becomes a candidate in the imperial examinations.

He is on the verge of making the honor roll, with a bright future ahead.

But Chu Xuan, who knows his history well, understands that serving as an official under Zhu Yuanzhang rarely ends well.

Just then, Chu Xuan binds himself to the God-Tier Choice System.

Choice One: Face the metropolitan examination questions and write complete nonsense. Reward: a photographic memory.

Choice Two: Give it everything, make the honor roll, and come first in the exams. Reward: one hundred taels of silver.

Choice Three: Get up, leave the examination hall, and make a run for it. Reward: a bottle of bruise medicine.

Chu Xuan decisively chooses to write complete nonsense.

A question about the fiefdoms? Write an essay on statecraft?

Chu Xuan: The descendants of the Ming will be endless, and the Ming will surely perish at the hands of its princes.

A question about enriching the country?

Chu Xuan: Lift the ban on maritime trade, encourage commerce, and raise the status of merchants.

A question about pacifying the barbarians?

Chu Xuan: Fight! Fight them hard! Kill them all! Take everything!

The imperial examinations come to an end! Chu Xuan really does fail! But Zhu Yuanzhang is utterly shaken.

Zhu Yuanzhang goes straight to Chu Xuan and asks:

Tell me, why will the Ming fall at the hands of its princes?
