A Song of Green Flowers in the Army Opens My Path to General

At the New Year's Day celebration, Lin Wenjie from the Fifth Squad of the Third Company took the stage and sang "Green Flower in the Army." The TV broadcast carried his voice to military units across the country.

That very night, new recruit companies all over the country went into an uproar.

"Mom, don't worry about me. Your son is climbing over the wall and coming home tonight!"

One deserter made it home, only to find the political instructor answering the door, the platoon leader helping his mother cook, the company commander chatting with his father, and his squad leader doing push-ups on the floor!

That night, every new recruit company was thrown into chaos!

That night, squad leaders, platoon leaders, and company commanders learned firsthand what it meant to be surrounded on all sides!

That night, every noncommissioned officer and commissioned officer hated a man named Lin Wenjie!

Thanks to the song "Green Flower in the Army," Lin Wenjie also set out on the road to becoming a general!
