Great Ming: The Crown Prince of Chongzhen, Leading a Peasant Uprising

After transmigrating into the body of the crown prince at the end of the Ming dynasty, Zhu Cilang had no desire to become the child emperor of the Southern Ming. Instead, he simply led a peasant uprising.

With the Embroidered Uniform Guard as his core force, he recruited refugees and killed corrupt officials, local tyrants, and members of the imperial family. Whenever he took a city, he slaughtered the wealthy, opened the granaries, and distributed food. His slogan, "Eat their food, wear their clothes. The Crown Prince is here, so no taxes are due," won him the people's hearts. He followed the path of the rebels, leaving the other rebels nowhere to go.

With informants in the capital passing along intelligence, the court's anti-bandit armies practically became supply convoys, delivering money, food, and equipment. The more they tried to suppress Zhu Cilang's rebel army, the larger it grew and the stronger it became. By comparison, the likes of Li Zicheng and Zhang Xianzhong were little more than nobodies marked for death...

Several years later, the Crown Prince's army surrounded the capital on all sides, leaving the court officials shaking with fear.

"Your Majesty, the Crown Prince says that once the capital falls, he'll confiscate all our property, execute us, and exterminate our clans for ten generations..."

Chongzhen: "That unfilial son! What took him so long? I've been waiting for this day for ages!"
