I Cook at a Temple, and Even Buddha Won't Let Me Leave the Monastery

After transmigrating to a parallel world, Qin Yuan discovered that he had somehow become the monk in charge of meals at a temple.

He had planned to return to secular life right away, but unexpectedly, he bound himself to a Gourmet Vegetarian Meal System!

Breakfast: pickled melon and radish served with millet porridge, soothing to the soul, crisp and refreshing! Lunch: Dongpo tofu and stir-fried asparagus with lily bulbs, their fragrance filling the air and making mouths water. Dinner...

"Master, I've come to beg for alms! I haven't eaten in three days. Please, in the name of Buddha's mercy, give me a bite of your vegetarian meal..."

"My sins are grave. I was already messing with birds when I was three, and sneaking a look at people bathing when I was ten... I sincerely repent. If I burn incense and pray to Buddha, will I get a vegetarian meal?"

Little Monk: "Abbot, this is bad! Another pilgrim has climbed over the wall to sneak into the kitchen and steal vegetarian food!"

The abbot flew into a rage. "Hui Kong! Because of you, every monk in this temple has lost his spiritual composure and thinks about nothing but what to eat! The pilgrims aren't even sincere in their worship anymore... This is outrageous!"

Qin Yuan: "Then should I leave? Return to secular life?"

The abbot: "You've misunderstood... I meant that it's time for a meal. Have you finished cooking? Amitabha, the time has come for Buddha to test us again!"
