No Miracles

I wrote this piece sixteen times, and deleted it sixteen times.

This is an unprecedented clash between reason and impulse. If I don't tell this story, I really might go crazy. Besides, when we're old, who will be able to prove we were ever here?

But the people in this story aren't nobodies. If I tell it, readers will easily be able to figure out who I'm talking about.

So I can only mix in some made-up stories and characters. Even though the result is unrecognizable, it's still a story about our youth.

Now, here it is...

This novel and its characters are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to actual people or events is purely coincidental. Do not imitate.
