Dream Back 1939

Rommel was attacked by a U. S. Military plane on his way back from an inspection of the front lines. He was thrown out of the car and seriously injured. After an assassination attempt on Hitler failed, he was accused of being an accomplice in Hitler's murder. Hitler sent someone to deliver poison to Rommel and conveyed Hitler's promise: if he commits suicide by taking poison, his treason will be kept strictly confidential and he will be given a state funeral, and his relatives will receive the full pension of a field marshal. Otherwise, they will be tried in court. Rommel chose the former. Hitler indeed ordered a state funeral for Rommel. Field Marshal Rundstedt, the veteran of the army, delivered a eulogy and Hitler attended his funeral. At this moment, Hitler was still using Rommel's reputation to serve his crumbling Third Reich. This novel and its characters are purely fictitious. Any similarity is purely coincidental and should not be imitated.
