Military Life: You Want Me to Leave the Army? I'll Write The Art of War from the Start

Long Yan transmigrates to the Blue Star nation of Longguo and becomes a member of the Army Tactical Analysis Institute.

He is reborn into a hellish situation from the start: the theater command's leadership believes the Institute has no real expertise and plans to abolish it, staff and all.

You're taking away my livelihood and saying I have no skill? Ever heard of On War? The Art of War? Infantry Attacks? The Thirty-Six Stratagems?

To save his job, Long Yan brings out On War, shaking the entire military right from the start.

When you transmigrate, you start by copying military treatises.

After making a name for himself, Long Yan becomes a highly sought-after tactical instructor.

A tank brigade commander: Brother Yan, one brigade against an armored division. We're screwed, right? How are we supposed to fight?

Long Yan: Useless. It's time I taught you how to defend with tanks on the front line and counterattack with infantry on the second.

A motorized infantry brigade commander: Brother Yan, one motorized infantry brigade against three mechanized infantry brigades. We're doomed. Can we even fight them?

Long Yan: Trash. Do you know the three-three formation? Know how to besiege a point and strike its reinforcements? Know how to open with a nuclear strike?

Theater commander: Xiao Yan, there are too many levels of command, and tactical responses are too slow. What do we do?

Long Yan: Fool. I have a plan for military reform, sir.
