Great Ming: You Were Told to Govern Your Fief, So How Did You Build an Empire Where the Sun Never Sets?

In the twelfth year of Hongwu, the Ming state has only just been established. The treasury is empty and grain is scarce. Zhu Yuanzhang asks his ministers for a good solution, but none of them can come up with one.

Just then, the soul of someone from a later age transmigrates into the body of the seventh prince, Zhu Fu. He immediately submits a proposal: there is a vast amount of unclaimed land across the sea. If the Ming conquers it, all its problems will be solved.

But Zhu Yuanzhang and his ministers think he's talking nonsense, and Zhu Yuanzhang even kicks him out to take up his fief.

Once there, Zhu Fu gives free rein to his ambitions: trade, roads, construction, and military preparations.

In the fifteenth year of Hongwu, the Northern Yuan invades south. The reinforcements sent by the court will take at least a month to arrive, but Zhu Fu's army has already fought its way to the banks of the Muna River. The Northern Yuan is routed, and the court is stunned.

When Zhu Yuanzhang visits Qi to inspect it, he is so shocked he is left gaping.

The cement city walls are a full ten meters high!

In the residential district, traditional-style mid-rise buildings tower above the streets. A building that rivals the imperial palace is actually a residential complex?

Then Zhu Yuanzhang asks about Zhu Fu's savings and is astonished to discover that he has more money than the imperial treasury!

At this point, Zhu Fu says, "Father, it's time to launch our expedition."
