I Show Foreign Friends Around China, and They Lose Their Cool

After four years studying abroad, Lu Cheng returns to China.

He brings a few foreign friends along to tour the country.

Just after they get off the plane, at midnight, they see a young woman walking alone down the street. His foreign friends actually want to escort her home.

Lu Cheng says, "Women in China aren't afraid of people when they walk home at midnight. They're only afraid of ghosts. That's what public safety is like here."

They use mobile payment, but his foreign friends accuse him of skipping the bill and being immoral. They even call him a scoundrel?

They order a ride-hailing car after midnight, and his foreign friends turn into Sherlock Holmes, seriously deducing that the driver must be a private chauffeur for his family.

They order takeout in first class on a high-speed train, and his foreign friends reach the astonishing conclusion that his family owns shares in the railway.

Lu Cheng is at a loss for words.

All he can do is curse inwardly: Foreigners are so damn ignorant.
