Starting from Scratch as a Tycoon in Another World

“I really don’t want to be a city lord...”

Jiang Feng was fed up with the hustle and bustle of the city, so he returned to the countryside to farm. But then he discovered that the toilet in his family’s old house was actually a portal to another world!

He stumbled into that world by accident, only to be forced to become a city lord?

Before he knew it, he had become the leader of a small desert city. Its residents were so poor they couldn’t even afford food, and he had to support several hundred people himself.

Drought, desolation, poverty: the conditions were worse than in Africa. Please, just let me go! Whoever wants to be city lord can do it!

Thankfully, the residents were absolutely loyal, and their demands were modest:

No water? There’s a river right outside the door.

No soil? Recycle construction-site dirt.

No food? Buy cheap food that’s nearing its expiration date.

Install solar power to mine cryptocurrency, and build a sand factory, a medicinal wine factory, a hazardous waste recycling plant, a clothing and footwear workshop, and a weapons factory.

Then he discovers a gold mine and opens up the Silk Road through the desert!

Jiang Feng was dumbfounded. “When did I become the richest man alive?”
