Great Ming: Such a Corrupt Official, and I Can't Even Execute Him?

During the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty.

Zhu Yuanzhang received a report that Li Mu, magistrate of Fengyang County, had expanded ten private mansions and acquired ten thousand mu of land!

He had more than twenty concubines alone!

He had once splashed five million taels of silver in a single night aboard a pleasure boat.

After reading the memorial, Zhu Yuanzhang was so furious he could barely think straight.

"How could such a corrupt official have survived this long?"

"Guards, have Li Mu cut into a thousand pieces and torn apart by five horses!"

The imperial edict had only just gone out when, the very next day, Zhu Yuanzhang received a petition written in blood by a hundred thousand people of Fengyang, all asking him to spare Li Mu.

Even his most respected Uncle Zhu Liu hurried to Jinling and jabbed a finger at Zhu Yuanzhang's forehead as he scolded him:

"Chongba, do you want to make our Zhu family into sinners?"
