A Bizarre Western Fantasy Tale: The Messenger of the Capricorn Star Spirit

Ed transmigrates to a world of magic and unexpectedly becomes an apostle of the Star Spirit:

"Ed Rustsilver, my one and only apostle. I allow you to love any woman, do anything, and go anywhere."

"I don't need your permission."

The Star Spirit looked at him and smiled softly:

"No, you still don't understand. None of your romances will ever come to anything, because in the end, I alone will stay by your side. All your endeavors will ultimately turn to nothing, because your destined path is one of slaughter. Everywhere in the world will feel like a foreign land to you, because your only home is the shadows."

Many years later, as Ed and the girl nestled beside him watched the stars fall in the distance and the earth turn to black mud, he remembered that conversation.

"I was such a fool back then."

"So was I."
