The Madam Is Determined to Run Away

When Yiqing learned that she was about to be married off, she panicked. What should she do? She'd heard her betrothed held great power and was feared by her royal father. Wasn't that a sure path to disaster? She had to escape! Besides, if she got married to someone else while away, the arrangement would naturally be void.

Yiqing looked at the young man helping her escape and decided he was perfect! He'd carry her on his back as they ran, catch birds and pick flowers to make her smile, and he was pretty good at fighting, too. No problem. He was the one!

The new Heavenly Sovereign had only just stabilized the realm when he heard that his usually gentle and lovely fiancée was planning to run away. How could that be allowed? He'd raised his little wife for so many years. How could he possibly let her escape so easily? After testing her at length, the Heavenly Sovereign reached a conclusion: his little wife wasn't swayed by power or drawn to wealth and luxury. She was determined to leave him. What was he supposed to do? With no other choice, the Heavenly Sovereign resorted to every low trick in the book, from deception to outright con artistry, and finally tricked her back into his arms.

But how could my love rival be... myself?
