Esports: The Glory of the Phantom

As a newly formed dark horse team, Shao Zichao's DG9 was nearly unstoppable from the regional qualifiers to the World Championship, rarely facing any setbacks. Yet they lost at Worlds, taking only second place. With the game itself failing to attract much interest, the team disbanded amid regrets. Its members went their separate ways, and even the teammate Shao Zichao trusted most no longer wanted to take the professional stage with him.

No one could have imagined that two years later, Dark Horse would become the hottest esports game around. Shao Zichao longed for the chance to reclaim his former glory, and the team that invited him was none other than the once-mighty champions who had beaten DG9, now fallen apart and down on their luck.
